Christmas 2024 Malaysia – The Ultimate Guide
As the festive season seems in full swing, I’ve collated the promotional flyers we’ve received and included a round-up of Christmas specials we’ve tried, to create The Ultimate Guide to Christmas 2024 in Malaysia. It’s still early, and I’ll update this list weekly, so check back in to see if you need new inspiration or have not yet found what you’re looking for.
Christmas 2024 Malaysia – The Ultimate Guide
Christmas Meal Delivery KL
Huckleberry
I love that Huckleberry KL is a one-stop-shop for gourmet goodies to celebrate Christmas in Malaysia in 2024. Master bakers, they have a huge selection of sweet treats and loads of savoury options for festive dinners. From roasts to cookies, breads to sides and cakes, I can get much of what I need here in just one order.
Who wants to cook on Christmas? Not me! And why would I when Huckleberry delivers chef-prepared roasts with a variety of delicious hearty sides? We try their Beef Wellington (RM 390), a whole kilogram of pink sous-vide beef tenderloin wrapped in mushroom duxelles and flaky puff pastry. It’s cooked medium-rare, but you can heat it in the oven a little longer (or not) to get your desired doneness. The meat is tender and delicious, and the pastry ensures all the moist goodness is trapped within. Mains come with roasted Brussels sprouts, maple-glazed carrots, your choice of potatoes and apple, peach and plum crumble. There truly is no easier way to host a gathering.
Apart from a good selection of meals, the bakery shines with its sweets, too. First off, Grandma Jan’s Fruit Cake (RM 169, 6 inches), who we learn was quite heavy-handed with the booze, has been a family institution for over 70 years. Then there’s Huckleberry’s German Christmas bread, Stollen (RM 75), rich, dense, studded with dried fruits and candied peel around a marzipan middle. It’s perfect with a hot cuppa. Or go Italian with the star-shaped Pandoro (RM 60). Its light and fluffy middle can be made even more indulgent with a dollop of Nutella or pistachio cream. Be sure to include the French with Huckleberry’s Christmas Brioche (RM 30), a soft buttery loaf with mixed dried fruits, chocolate chips and a hint of cinnamon.
And then there’s the cookies! Jars of these sweets make both attractive decorations and easy gifts. Gingerbread Men (RM 8), Twinkling Funfetti Tree (RM 6.50), Chocolate Penguins (RM 8.50 pair), Chocolate Crinkles (RM 13.50, 10 pieces), Amaretti Biscuits (RM 16.50, 10 pieces), Almond Crescents (RM 21.50, 10 pieces), German Spiced Cookies (RM 25, 10 pieces) and Swiss Chocolate Almond Cookies (RM 17.50, 10 pieces) are just some that we taste and can attest to their premium quality.
Place your orders online via www.huckleberry.my/christmas or WhatsApp your nearest Huckleberry outlet. Damansara Heights + 012-209 8915, Bangsar Shopping Centre +6 012-320 0250, Pavilion Bukit Jalil +6012-576 7335, Intermark Mall +6012-372 7335 or Birch +6011-3934 2070.
Maria’s SteakCafe Roast Delivery
Maria’s SteakCafe can always be relied upon to deliver a tasty and filling festive roast. This year, we ordered the two-kilogram roast lamb, a generous portion with sides of creamed spinach and roast potatoes. And it was so good! We had Canadian farmer friends dining with us, and they were astounded by the quality of the lamb. That’s high praise coming from foodies who truly know their lamb.
Maria’s SteakCafe has a range of roasts, including the popular Angus beef Wellington (foie gras add-on optional) and traditional roast turkey, too. Set menus for five, start at RM 850+, with a bunch of accompaniments like Caesar salad, spaghetti chicken Bolognese, roast potatoes and creamed spinach. A lovely lemon loaf concludes the meal on a light, tangy note. Readers of The Yum List can receive a 10% discount when booking with the code THEYUMLIST10.
Special menus and a la carte delivery boxes are available from Nov 25 2024 to Jan 1 2025. Visit www.marias.com.my or contact them via mobile on +6017 902 0339.

Plant-based Christmas Malaysia 2024
Barat
Vegan options are rocking the year’s end, with Barat preparing a three-course meal (RM 109) to celebrate. Begin with a Christmas appetiser platter of rendang-infused nut roast, carrots with Italian herb brittle, cranberry cashew cheese, rosemary bread and house-made sauces – pesto and Sicilian heat. Fill up with a tasty lion’s mane mushroom steak sided with rosemary roasted potatoes and mushroom gravy. Lead out the finale with caramelised apples and caramel sauce. Top it all off with a Christmas cocktail (RM 29) of ice mulled wine, the perfect cool treat on a warm Christmas day.
Book your plant-based festive meal from Barat via WhatsApp +60172123166
Savor
Savor “beets” up the meat-free Christmas options, serving Beet Wellington (RM 48.90) and colourful sides. The festive vegan twist on tradition is wrapped in a flaky, homemade dough featuring a rich beet filling and signature “steak” sauce. The Winter Berry Fettucine (RM 37.90) is a vibrant and unique fusion of flavours, bringing together the richness of fettuccine with zippy raspberry notes. Lastly, the Roasted Cheezy Cauliflower (RM 24.90) is both hearty and flavourful. Golden-roasted cauliflower florets are drizzled with olive oil, a hint of maple syrup, and a touch of sriracha for a subtle kick. They’re then coated in homemade golden cheese sauce for a creamy finish.
These plant-based Xmas meals are available at Savor for the month of December 2025.

Entertaining Made Easy KL
La Petite Bouchée
La Petite Bouchée makes entertaining a breeze with its gorgeous cheese platters, which can cater to groups of different sizes. We delight in the Snowflake Feast (RM 340), which includes a 26cm bamboo tray, three types of cheese: French brie, smoked cheese, and manchego with truffle, three types of fruits: seasonal fruits and fresh berries, two types of cold cuts, water crackers, salted caramel mini tarts, chocolate pearls, and a pretty garnish. It’s arranged so attractively that all I have to do is remove the cover and serve it directly to the table. Hosting guests has never been easier.

D’Artisan Cheese
One of my grandfather’s favourite festive treats was a thick slice of moist Christmas fruit cake with a slice of aged, tasty cheese. The combination of sweet and savoury, rich and tangy, is a surprisingly delicious combo! You can try it, too, with D’Artisan Cheese’s Nutcracker Christmas Fondue Cheese Hamper (RM 238 before Dec 7, RM250 after Dec 7). Rum Fruit Cake (500g), handcrafted by @Cara’s Homemade, comes in a box set with D’Artisan’s locally crafted Cheddar, Gouda and Gruyère.
Visit www.Dartisancheese.com for the complete cheese list, platters and orders. Preorders are required for fresh cheese platters.
DuJour Christmas 2024 Malaysia Specials
DuJour Dining & Café has an awesome baker and a handful of mouthwatering treats for the season. Their Gingerbread Village Carrot Walnut Cake (RM 160) is one of my fave sweet treats this year. For someone who doesn’t usually eat cake or biscuits, I dove straight back in for a second slice. The cake with layers of cream cheese frosting is moist and flavourful, paired with gingerbread with a good kick of spice – fab!
WhatsApp Izreen @dujour.dining at +601111564123 for orders.
Kenny Hills Bakers
Kenny Hills Bakers’ Galette des Rois (RM 160+) is a must-try for the holiday season. This royal French treat is made with layers of golden puff pastry and a rich, creamy almond frangipane. Just look at those layers of flaky pastry from the edges! It is best enjoyed slightly warmed up and is fantastic with a hot cup of tea. It keeps at room temperature for two days and can be reheated in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for five minutes before consumption.

Festive Gifts Kuala Lumpur
Batik Boutique – Ethical Gifts
Batik Boutique is a social enterprise in Malaysia dedicated to supporting disadvantaged artisans, especially women, by providing them with a sustainable income through the creation of handmade batik textiles and products. Committed to fair trade practices, sustainability and community development, Batik Boutique ensures that artisans receive fair wages, use environmentally friendly materials, and have educational opportunities. From stylish clothing and accessories to home decor, their high-quality and unique products represent thoughtful and culturally rich gifts that support the preservation of Malaysia’s batik heritage and positively impact local communities.
While men’s shirts, women’s dresses and scarves are Batik Boutique top-sellers, I also appreciate their homeware and accessories. Unlike companies selling batik from Indonesia or even machine-printed items, products at Batik Boutique are guaranteed authentic. The Batik Serviette Set (RM 189) and Reversible Homeware Gift Set (RM 329) of placemats and coasters are particularly handy for the entertaining season. There are several designs, but I like the grey banana leaf motif suitable for a diverse range of get-togethers. Visit their store at The Row, shop online at batikboutique.com or contact them directly at +6018 230 83332.
Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur
There are Christmas hampers and then there are Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur’s gourmet, chef-curated hampers. The beautifully presented festive baskets include a whole bunch of handmade goodies, like festive cookies, gingerbread man cookies, Gianduja nougat (soft and delicious) and one of the moistest fruit cakes we’ve ever had. There’s also a large loaf of Panettone with a jar of hazelnut spread to go with it. (However, the spread is so good someone may have just eaten the entire jar with a spoon.) To refresh, there’s a cute trio of boxed Bridgerton Teas and your choice of a bottle of red or white Anakena wine (the sauvignon blanc was very quaffable). This hamper with wine is priced at RM 478.00. There’s also a RM 398 option with sparkling grape juice or a RM 578 to include prosecco.
Contact Bake by Banyan Tree via WhatsApp at +6012 288 2135 or on their website.
Cinnamon Group Hamper
The Cinnamon Group has a very good-looking hamper for this festive season filled with gourmet goodies. A large gingerbread man looks happy in the centre surrounded by biscotti, olives, chocolate knackery, Pellegrino, jam and a bottle of wine. It’s a classy collection for your picky friends.
