SilkPeel Facial

SilkPeel Dermalinfusion, A Medical Grade Facial, Lyfe Clinic

Monica Tindall

Our face is what we show to the world, and while I can cover up the rest of my flaws with clothing, there is no hiding my head. As I age, I realize how important it is to care for my delicate skin and turn more towards the medical profession for facials and less towards beauticians. As such, I’m always on the lookout for the latest in technology – something that is going to give me bang for my buck.

Today I try SilkPeel Dermalinfusion – a treatment that combines a thorough exfoliation with the deep infusion of medical-grade topical solutions. Put simply, it’s microdermabrasion taken to a whole new level.

What is a SilkPeel Facial?

Dr Anjalee at Lyfe Clinic explains to me that it’s an advanced evolution of the microdermabrasion. When microdermabrasion first became popular the instrument used for exfoliation was quite rough and not suitable for delicate skin. As technology developed, however, the machines used for exfoliation have become more and more refined. Today, the most cutting-edge technology is found in the SilkPeel, which not only removes dead skin cells but also infuses the skin with solutions specific to individual needs.

SilkPeel Process

Laying down in a private room, my skin is given a quick cleanse before we begin. The machine turned on makes a soft noise and the nozzle is swept over my skin in short upwards motions. Problem areas around my mouth and forehead get a little extra going over. There is no pain, just a sensation of a light vacuum as the head sucks up the dead cells.

Following the exfoliation, the skin is primed to receive nutrients and this is where the individualized solutions come into play. Depending on skin needs, customers can opt for formulas to counter dehydration, hyperpigmentation, acne or ageing. My skin is quite dry so the hydrating formula is chosen.

SilkPeel Review

The process took less than 15-minutes; some call it the lunch-time facial, as it really would be doable in a lunch break. The experience was comfortable and clean – no crystal residue as was common with the older technology. My skin feels smooth and hydrated and I think I look fresher immediately following the treatment. With immediate results, no downtime and its swift delivery, the SilkPeel is an ideal treatment for those wanting an efficient facial that delivers results.

Reasons to try SilkPeel: a very good cleanse and exfoliation with individualized serums to match clients’ skin conditions; friendly team; a quick effective facial with no downtime.
