By Araceli and Jorge Arismendi

Mediteca,Spanish Tapas and Wine Bar, clearly understands how to take care of their clients the minute they step foot in this rustic and sleek Mediterranean environment.  High energy radiated as soon as you entered through the glass doors and immediately, the aromas and sounds of sizzling garlic filled the air with pure satisfaction.  Nothing is more rewarding and invigorating for the hungry appetite than the rich smells of food being prepared in an open kitchen.  One by one and bite by bite, delicious Mediterranean flavors began to make its way from the mouth watering Spanish Tapas. The Garlic Prawns were juicy, tender, and full of flavor followed by the Fried Cheese Balls that melted in your mouth instantaneously.  It was literally an explosion of various warm cheeses.  For the potato and egg lovers, the Spanish Omelette also known as Spanish Tortilla, was delightful.  Made with very simple and basic ingredients, the Spanish Omelette was made to perfection, slightly fried giving it a nice smokey taste. These small size portions of goodness paired with a glass of red make for a charming evening at Mediteca.  The a la carte menu offers several Tapas options from marinated sardines to skewers of beef strip loin with red wine reduction, one can satisfy any taste bud.
As the evening sky grew dark, the continuous flow of Prosecco and Red and White Sangria made its way through the energetic crowd. The hostess along with the waiters, cooks, Spanish guitarist, and the one and only NEW chef in charge, Italian born Mr. Riccardo Ferrarotti made sure every single guest was more than content with the drinks and especially, the food.  Mr. Ferrarotti was on a mission to engage his guests in succulent Mediterranean dishes including the PAELLA DE MARISCOS– Seafood Paella.  If one has not tried this popular Spanish Valencian rice dish, one must come to the  KLCC area and experience it first hand at Mediteca. This beautiful dish requires time and just the right ingredients.  It is obvious this recipe at Mediteca has been prepared several times and each time getting better and tastier. Mr. Ferrarotti and his kitchen staff worked intensely to prepare their menu for the night but what was even more admirable about this process, was the passion and excitement Mr.Ferrarotti and his cooks exhibited. With this kind of passion and excitement in the kitchen, 2013 makes for a successful year for Mediteca.  By the end of the fiesta (party), cake artist Mel Passion shared her unique and original Limoncello Bottled Cake with the attendees.  What a complete ending to a perfect party!  Bravo, Mediteca, you get two thumbs up!

  3. I'm not exactly into Mediterranean food as the spices are too strong for my liking, but I certainly wouldn't mind having a glass of wine 🙂

  4. wow… drooling at the food and the lovely ambience! 😉
