L ‘Osteria, Langkawi, Malaysia

Just down from the main beach strip of Pantai Cenang, L’Osteria serves simple fresh Italian food in a relaxed atmosphere. An open indoor outdoor setting sees many customers taking advantage of the warm evenings by savoring a hearty meal under the star studded sky. Pictured above are: a perfectly cooked oyster pasta of the day aglio olio style; flaky moist seabass fillets with semi-dried tomatoes, diced zucchini and wedges; and a light crispy wood fired pizza with turkey ham, mushrooms and artichokes. A small but sufficient wine list and duty free prices means enjoying a drop of wine with your meal won’t break the bank either. The pinot grigio and rose house wines we tried were light but full flavoured, and drinkable on their own or matched nicely with food. Judging by the crowd on our five visits to the island over the last few years, L’Osteria appears to be a consistent hit for locals and tourists alike.
