There’s no shortage of authentic Italian pizzas in Kuala Lumpur. Complete with wood-fired ovens and Italian chefs, here are a few of our favourite places to grab a slice.
With the most extensive pizza menu (over 50 varieties) in the city and a wood-fired oven from his home country, Italian pizza chef Christian ensures that every single taste bud is catered for. Traditional thin crusts and toppings any way you want them keep customers returning to this swanky osteria at Old Maya on Raja Chulan.
Thin crusts, a wood-fired oven and loads of meat-free options, it’s hard to go past Sassorosso for a great pizza in the city centre.
Hubby finds it hard to pass through Bangsar without insisting that we pick up a pizza from the boys at Portofino. Thin crust Italian bases and plenty of seafood options are their specialty.
Recently opened in Great Eastern Mall, Craft Pizza is run by Italian born Lorenzo – a pizza chef from Rome. While maintaining high quality ingredients he manages to offer some incredibly good value specials such as a slice of pizza and a house made iced tea for only RM4.90!
You might be surprised to find some of the best Italian pizza in the city inside a hotel, but Villa Danieli and its wood-fired oven are one of the originals when it comes to finding authentic Italian cuisine in Kuala Lumpur.
I am getting hungry looking at the mouthwatering pizza! I do love pizza but don’t eat it often. When I do, though, I prefer vegetarian with mushrooms, onions, garlic, bell peppers and cheese. 🙂
Linda, I love my vegetarian pizzas too. Craft Pizza does a very pretty veggie rainbow one.
Useful list, thanks! Have heard good things about Luce, need to check it out!
You’re spoiled for choice at Luce – over 50 different types of pizza.
I must go try out the one nearest to me at Great Eastern Mall real soon 🙂
That one sure is value for money. I can see why the lunch crowd there is huge.
Come to think of it, I’ve never had a pizza anywhere in KL. About time I give one a try. Thanks for the tips.
You’re spoiled for choice here. 🙂
I’m surprised you don’t mention Neroteca, Damansara. They are by far the best porky pizzas in town!
Okay Penny, well I shall have to add it to my list to try. 🙂
