Breakfast at The Datai Langkawi, Malaysia

Breakfast in The Dining Room at The Datai Langkawi is one of the best, if not the best we’ve tried on the island. Everything is made from scratch and the chefs lift the average hotel buffet options to gourmet heights. More on The Datai will come in posts next week, but for now, here’s a short photo journal of some of the mouth-watering delights found in the morning offerings. If you get a chance to start the day here, do it!

  1. What? No nasi lemak and teh tarik? 😉
Oh I'm going to like the pineapple and ginger jam.
I just opened a jar of pear and ginger jam just some days ago. Yummy…
Half of it is already gone! 😉

    • There sure is nasi lemak and roti canai and noodles and many Malaysian favs – it's just not my kind of thing for brekkie. According to the table next to us on the first morning though, the nasi lemak is a damn fine version. 🙂

  2. Foie Gras for breakfast?! I am not too sure but that might be a little heavy for me

  3. Delightful and that would be – if served up till 11.30 am – my meal for the day,
    IF included in the accommodation.
Only thing that I'd be objecting to would be the bloody baked beans.
I think Monica would understand that – Shane Warne and his bloody love
of those things when he cricket toured. He took tins of the bloody stuff with him!!
Cheers – ole and back to the rolling plains of "sunny Spain where it does rain" on
my horse for a round up of the bulls. Hasta la Vista etc etc.

ps: here the weather is bloody miserable – the rain is NOT staying on the Plains!

  4. Fruit, a sunny side up egg, a croissant and some homemade jam! Sumptuous! 🙂

  5. that's a breathtakingly decadent and delightful brekkie … from the foie gras with egg to the lobster with omelette! 🙂

  6. Lovely shots of what's cooking in the pan.

  7. YUM, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! Everything looks delicious, your photos are always amazing. Have a happy day!
