Best Seaside Resorts in Malaysia 2012

Surrounded by water, Malaysia surely does have some fine beach resorts to satisfy your oceanic desires. These resorts are my favorites on the mainland and islands off the West Coast (more to come from Borneo and islands off the East Coast in 2013). It’s sad to note however, that while the resorts themselves are gorgeous, the sea surrounding many of them is not ideal for swimming. Still, these lovely oasis’ make the most of their maritime vistas and more than compensate for restricted access to the waves through stunning pools, gorgeous spas and exceptional service. So here is The Yum List’s summary of:

  1. No, thank you. Imagine me in my speedos, sunbathing…I would look like a beached whale. Ewekkkk!!!! LOL!!! I prefer the hills – mice and cool and relaxing.

  2. There is always something about the sea that lures you. And coupled with nice white beaches and the greens of the forest as a backdrop, who can resist a beach resort? Unfortunately, the waters on the west coast aren't as alluring as those on the east. Not been to Pangkor island for a long time already. But that picture of the beach and sea with the backdrop of the forest still looks stunning! Tioman on the east is getting untidy nowadays. It used to be known as one of the world's best beaches.

  3. I spent all day at the Hard Rock Hotel Penang yesterday. Both Pangkor Laut and Rasa Sayang are stunning, too. I agree that I wish the water at the beaches was nicer and cleaner. Another friend tells of how it actually stained the white parts of her bathing suit.

  4. Wish to go Tanjung Jara & Pangkor Laut but they are too expensive >.< Wish I can win lottery lol

  5. those places are great for holidays…

  6. ooo, the only ones i've been to are the ones in penang, though i didn't manage to stay at either of the two, but i enjoyed just hanging out there and eating at their restaurants. great choices! i should try the tanjong jara one someday 😀

  7. Sad to say but I nv been to Pangkor or Tanjong Jara… would love to go there someday!

  10. Never been to any of the above places, but would love to some day! Pangkor Laut is definitely a dream vacation still.. 😀
