Four Points by Sheraton, Kuta, Bali

Arriving on a night flight to Bali, we wanted to spend our first evening in a hotel that was close to the airport, but one in which we’d wake up the following day and feel as if our holiday had already begun. The newly opened Four Points by Sheraton, Kuta offered exactly what we desired.

Only seven kilometres from the airport and a couple of minutes’ walk to the beach, the resort makes a convenient entry point to the Island of the Gods. Using the hotel’s private car service (at $15USD) meant we had a hotel representative waiting for us as we exited arrivals and were worry-free, feeling taken care of, right from the start.

With the late night check-in our first want was a hot shower and sound sleep. The high-pressured shower did the trick, and we both drifted into easy slumber with Four Points’ signature king-size bed with plush mattress, down pillows, cozy duvets and crisp 250-threadcount sheets.

Awaking the following morning and drawing the blackout curtains had us smiling and in holiday mood from the early hours. Washed in white, the room was fresh and cheery without being sterile. Bleached wood furniture, milky bedding and chalky rattan chairs are offset with pale grey wallpaper and decorative cane enveloped lamps. 185 rooms and suites provide every guest with a balcony or terrace. Our Deluxe Lagoon Access Room, located on the ground floor, gifted us with direct pool access: there’s nothing quite like a refreshing dip to set the day off in high spirits.

More water options are found in the rooftop pool, and the beach itself is close by too. After a run along the shore and a quick weights session in the gym, we headed to The Eatery, ravenous for breakfast.

International comfort foods and delightful local dishes are offered in a buffet spread at The Eatery with live cooking stations preparing plates made-to-order. The breezy restaurant borders the ground floor lagoon pool and spills out onto the street side. Shaded by palms and cooled by a light draft courtesy of the wall-less space, it’s a pleasant venue where long leisurely breakfasts are the norm.

If we had more time we’d check out Wrapped, which features desserts, gourmet snacks and handcrafted beverages. Best Brews also appears worthy of a visit promising an urban beer garden concept, while the rooftop outlet, Vertigo, boasts 270-degree views with a tapas and cocktails menu accompanied by a free-form pool and swim-up bar.

But alas, we had further travel plans further north on the island, so our stay was brief. Nevertheless Four Points by Sheraton, Kuta, served its purpose and for anyone wanting some of Kuta’s action, the property provides a haven from the bustling streets for a very good value price. Check out their website for some great offers.

Reasons to visit: convenient to airport; brand new hotel; good value for money; walking distance to the beach, shops and entertainment; friendly service; every room has a balcony or terrace; lagoon access rooms.

  1. I see they have lanterns up for Chinese New Year too, eh?

  2. that’s quite a tremendous lagoon pool, stretching all the way from one end to the other! 🙂

  3. Too close to Kuta in my opinion.
I hope you read the signs at the airport – you should have taken
photos of them so your viewers could see the warnings from your blog.
I am sure there would not be a law against taking warning photos???
As a matter of fact I think the Indonesian government would welcome it.

I prefer the Nusa side of the island – far away from the “maddening crowd”
of people who only go to that Kuta region for one or two things.
One starts with “S” and the other with “D” – both combined mostly.
I thought that the Four Seasons was much further down the coastline from Kuta.
Certainly looks grand, but no thank you – I like my Nusa side far better.

North next on the Kuta side??? There is/was a grand hotel up there – can’t readily recall the name – all beachside villas. Very swish.
Hope you get up the Ubud area and to the golf course hotel as well as the Nusa area??
Cheers and enjoy Bali – the Island of the Gods.

    • The ” beachside villas” hotel I was referring to is the
      “The Oberoi” on Seminyak Beach.
Listed for years in the “Leading Hotels of the World” Directory.
Worth a visit, Monica, El Canning and Co. but I still plug
for the Sanur and the Nusa side of the island.

  4. Now that is what I call a Hotel. It’s delightful.
Love your photos, especially the red flowers against the blue sky, that is awesome….(a certain person doesn’t like that word, ‘awesome’)

    • Ha ha – Margaret !!!
I most certainly loathe the overused and now incorrectly used word.
Sometimes I think it is the only word in the young people’s dictionary!
      Cheers
      Colin

  5. Correction…..against the blue pool..

  6. Hello, what a beautiful hotel. I would love to stay there and visit Bali. Thanks for the great review, lovely photos. Happy Valentine’s Day! Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week!

  7. I like how they turned their concourse area into a swimming pool!

  8. What a GRAND hotel. I can see myself swimming in that huuuuge pool ; -)
