  1. Okay, I'm having the Brioche French Toast and a glass of bubbly. What an incredible spread of food! Amazing.

  2. Monica and Co.
The top photo – is that a tourist brochure reprinted photo?
    Just looks too picture perfect.
The breakfast delights and choices are sure mouth watering.

Good to see coconut husks being used as storers!!! That's a new one
    for me.
Some people just won't listen and sunbake / lie under coconut trees
on tropical resorts around the pool areas. Quite stupid really,
most sensible resorts put up signs warning about falling coconuts,
many resorts have the coconuts removed. I saw a bullock have it's back
broken by a falling coconut when in PNG and heard quite a number
of stories of native deaths from falling coconuts.

Now no trying "Russian roulette" with the Moscowites!
They are pretty darn good at that stuff.
    Cheers
El Colin Cordobes, the avoider of hanging coconuts!!!!

    • The surrounds are incredible right?! That photo was just taken on my little point and shoot camera – easy to get good shots with such beautiful scenery.
The island attempts to have a no plastic no rubbish policy to reduce their impact on the earth. Of course, many ingredients are imported but they do their best to grow a lot of what they can in their own organic garden. The coconut containers are a creative way to reduce plastic.
No Russian roulette, no hanging out under coconut trees – a safe trip. 😉

  3. What a luscious, inviting, soothing place for breakfast! The Parma ham…here in my area, Montreal, Canada, we call it Prosciutto, I believe. At least judging from the photo you are sharing it looks like that. It is very expensive and quite good. Looking at all the fruits, the eggs, the views with the beautiful water, trees and birds is making me want to rush over there! 🙂 The variety of honey is fantastic! 🙂

    • There are so many different types of cured meats and they all have different names depending on the region they were produced, sometimes on what the animal ate, and even on how long they have been aged for! Just that room with the meats and cheeses is worth a trip to the Maldives!

  4. Oh, I just thought of something. I have noticed that you use the term "prawns" a lot, and to me they look like shrimp, which is the term I am used to. Are prawns and shrimp the same thing? Thanks. 🙂

    • In general, I think prawn and shrimp are used interchangeably. However, shrimp seems much more common in North America, while prawn is almost always used in Australia and England.

  5. omigosh, 16 types of honey … i'd go crazy, in a happy way, sampling all 16 😀

  6. oh my! I can't believe they squeeze the wheatgrass fresh! Look at the fresh honeycomb too!

  7. Spoilt for choices. All looks great. I had Egg Benedict here the other day too, not something easily available around our little town – will blog about it soon.

    • Eggs Benedict seems to be the latest thing in cafes around KL. Everyone has a version – some much better than others. I look forward to your post.

  8. Oo lala… our favourite holiday destination!! Time to go back, me thinks!

  9. Wow, the sea is stunningly beautiful!
Ha ha… That's a very creative way of reusuing coconut shells. 🙂
Herons and hermit crabs must be well fed over there!

  10. Oh my, this is my kind of paradise. The views, the food and a pretty heron. I would be very happy there. Great post, thanks for sharing. Enjoy your day!

  11. What a lovely colour the sea is.
Coconut containers are a great way to store food.

  12. Gosh, I need to get back to Maldives after all these years! It's a paradise out there! xoxo

  13. This week you are taking us to another magical location… These photos are simply amazing, I am impressed with your photography skills. And to have been there 3 times I confirm that Maldives is paradise on earth. (for tourists seeking tranquility and relaxation). Have a lovely week ; -)
