Qliq Damansara, Boutique Hotel, Empire Damansara

The hottest new property to hit the KL accommodation scene is Vive Hospitality’s first hotel concept in this region, Qliq Damansara.
Located in the vibrant enclave of Damansara Perdana, Qliq Damansara is surrounded by bustling business and leisure centres. Office towers, malls, restaurants, theatres, a whole array of entertainment options and just about any commercial desire you could possibly want for, are all friendly neighbours. The shared home of Empire Damansara (a hip mall renowned for its unique design) comprises a host of services, and The Curve, Ikea, Centre Point and One Utama are mere minutes down the road. What’s more, the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle bus to and from these destinations, making the journey to the office or the mall hassle-free.

The service staff, better known as Qliq-ers, were selected through a unique selection process where candidates showcased their abilities via various social media platforms. Energetic and cheerful, the final cut enhance the upbeat vibe of the hotel, and after ogling the high-ceilinged lobby on arrival, they’re our first encounter with the property. Smiley, efficient and ever-so-helpful, they launch our stay with positive energy and an enthusiasm to discover more.

Qliq Welcome
As we’re refreshed with a chilled moist towel, and cooled with mineral water, we take in the snazzy lobby. A giant chandelier hangs from above, mirrored with an over-sized singular bench chair. Lighting is thoughtfully positioned drawing attention to the creative touches of the entryway. An outdoor green space offers an alternative to the indoor temperate controlled environment, defining a pleasant lounging area. We observe the lack of mind-numbing ambience music, and instead feel pepped up by some spunky jazz and new-age tunes.

We especially appreciate the 24-hour Anytime Fitness Centre, which allows hubby a night owl workout, and me an early bird beginning. A decent range of both strength and cardio equipment gift us some recompense for the delicious food and beverage exploration we’ve embarked on in the
neighbouring Empire Damansara mall.

Food and Beverage
While Qliq Damansara is not running any food and beverage services of their own during our soft launch visit, they do have a partnership with Hugo’s by Modestos, which is housed under the same roof. Breakfast is served here, and at the moment opens the day with a choice of a western or local set menu inclusive of a hot beverage and juice.

Seven Cups
Specialty roast coffee and cakes can be found at Seven Cups. A scrumptious menu of western favourites with surprising Asian twists can be relished at the trendy Metal Box café, and an enormous bakery, Tours Le Jours, satisfies all carb cravings. One of our favourite bars in the city, simply named The Bar, has some of the best cocktails and assortment of Japanese whiskeys
around.

  1. what a wonderfull live….
    Simply damn delicious meals!!!

  2. Good God!!!!!
The Malaysians sure go into the hospitality and tourism business on a grand
scale. Seems the place must be a tourist mecca!!!!
To be perfectly honest, Monica, most of my friends seem to give
    KL and Malaysia the "flick".
Maybe because of that Keating "recalcitrant" accusation ???
However spotting the baked beans breakfast dish, I guess the former
Aussie cricketer, Shane Warne, would be at home!!! ha ha.
Warne reputedly took tins of baked beans in his cricketing gear
with him when he toured other countries, except "Pommy Land".
Plenty of baked beans available in that country – ha ha!

I read yesterday in a tourist magazine that the young "gun" Aussie
tennis sensation. Nick Krygios, who has a Malay mother and a Greek
father, is now promoting Malaysian Airlines (MH).
That might be a good boost for the young tourist brigade.

Dedy – above – what in heavens name is a Dentist Chef????

    Cheers
    Colin (Brisbane. Australia)
