Spa Village, Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur

My breath slows and I mentally relax just thinking about the Spa Village at the Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur. It literally is a paradisal oasis in the urban metropolis. Natural surrounds, comprehensive treatments and extremely professional therapists make it one of the best spas in the city.

Waterfall Cascading into Spa Village’s Private Pool
A luxurious haven awaits all who enter. Palms line an aquamarine pool and waterfalls cascade into the depths, gently soothing with the wonderfully peaceful sound of running water. Deck chairs line the edge and beckon continued unwinding after a treatment. Breezy pavilions offer day beds and views of gardens with more ponds and water features.

Relaxation Day Beds
A dimly lit reception immediately relieves eyes of any strain and, an even darker pre-treatment lounge further removes stimulation, coaxing the mind to mental repose and the body to calm. Moist cool towels and tepid water neutralize and refresh before your appointment begins.

Outside Shower and Bathtub
A casual conversation with the therapist on the way to the treatment room allows time to communicate concerns and preferences. Both couples’ and individual rooms have self-contained bathroom facilities. All resemble mini-villas with sliding glass doors giving access to private garden terraces and outdoor bathing.

Couple’s Treatment Room
I had booked in for the Campur Campur Treatment (120 minutes RM550) which blends Malay and Thai massage techniques to form one of Spa Village’s signature creations. Beginning with a heated moist towel, feet and lower legs were refreshed and temperature and pressure preferences ascertained. Stretching and static pressure, typical of Thai style therapy, prepared the body for the deeper longer strokes of the Malay technique. Lemon grass and pandan leaves, in herbal steam pouches, pushed against the body completing the session with warmth and pleasant aromas. Two hours just seemed to slip by and the combination of three systems of massage collaborated faultlessly to configure a first-rate experience.

Fresh Flowers
Hubby partook in a Malay Massage (60 minutes RM300) and a European Facial (60 minutes RM350), each completed by an individual therapist. The massage used pure essential oils of ylang ylang, orange, clove, ginger and patchouli to lubricate the long deep strokes that hubby felt penetrated and dispelled stress from his muscles. He requested strong pressure and I could tell by his deep contented breathing that he got exactly what he had asked for.

Massage Oils
The deep cleansing facial and purifying Kerstin Florian treatment suited hubby’s skin well. He has problem skin. It’s sensitive and can go from overly dry to oily in a day with allergic reactions to anything from chili to peaches. The beautician customized the renewing peel to his specific needs, followed it with a massage to promote circulation and finished with a masque to balance and nourish the skin. He came out glowing and full of praise for both treatments.

Spa Village Kuala Lumpur makes a special treat for anyone in need of pampering and, a gift voucher for an experience of pure bliss would make an excellent present for someone special.

  1. Pricy place in the middle of the city !

  2. I would not mind a good spa session myself, last I had was almost 12 months ago in Manila.. warghh

  3. Would you say it was worth the money? Did you get good value for quite a pricey place?

    • Hi Duncan, You're right, it's not cheap. It's a lovely location though. I think you get value for money if you allow some time to enjoy the facilities. The pool is gorgeous and there are pretty day beds overlooking gardens and waterfalls so you could easily pass a few hours here.

  4. Wow! This looks awesome! Happy New Year!

  5. It looks like a nice swimming pool. Happy New Year.

    Greetings,
    Filip
