Living in South East Asia I’m fortunate to have access to some of the best spa experiences in the world. Here are a few of my favourites in Malaysia with my “reason to visit” and a link to a more detailed review. Soon to come… my top picks for Kuala Lumpur.
The Spa Village, Pangkor Laut Resort – Unique bath ritual. In my humble opinion… the best spa in Malaysia if not the world!
The Spa Village, Cameron Highlands – first class spa experience utilizing natural local ingredients to uplift, relax and purify
The Spa Village, Tanjong Jara, Terangganu – sublime spa therapies by professionals in peaceful tropical surrounds
The Spa Village, Majestic Malacca – professional and detail oriented spa, Peranakan setting, complimentary hair washing ritual
Rock Spa, Hard Rock Hotel, Penang – gorgeous outdoor environs in the garden, by the sea.
Satkara Spa, Casa del Rio, Malacca – smaller intimate spa, excellent therapists, foot washing ritual
Heavenly Spa by Westin, Langkawi – location, location, location
The Spa, Casa del Mar, Langkawi – excellent treatments at reasonable prices
Do tell what are your favourite spas in Malaysia and around the world?
The Spa Village, Pangkor Laut Resort |
Can't wait for your top pick in KL =)
That's going to be a hard one to choose…
eeks, i'm ashamed to say i wouldn't be able to contribute to this list at all. but i do like reading your spa entries 😀
Spas are generally unaffordable at home, but around South East Asia, you can get pretty good deals.
My personal fav spa would be The Banjaran Retreats, Ipoh
Noted… yet to try that one.
PJ, any?
Have not ventured too much into PJ, but there is one at the Curve that I love – more of a facials and beauty place though than so much of a spa. Do you have tips?
thanks a lot for sharing..
You're welcome.
My favourite sauna paradise is Therme Erding near Munich, Germany.

But I also like the Twin Palms Hotel in Phuket, Thailand.

Oh so you like the sauna. I'm not a huge fan, but hubby loves the heat. Thanks for the Thailand tip. Have yet to visit too many up there.
The best ever was the Polynesian Spa in Rotorua, NZ. The spring fed hot pools were awesome. Was in Rotorua for 3 days and I literally had to go in every day for some pampering and a soak in the pools.
The local ones with a good Balinese feel is Spa Khareyana near to Assunta Hospital PJ. We've patronizing this place for quite some years and is a wee like our mini retreat to Bali every now and then.
Last night when we spoke I mentioned Berjaya Langkawi…the spa there is another not to be missed.
